Silk Painting
Sept 12-Oct 3; Saturdays 10am-12pm
Explore the world of fiber art by learning the basics of stretching, drawing, and
painting on silk! Choose to apply amazing vibrant colors to squares, strips,circles, scarf blanks or scraps - suitable for
quilting, knotting, wearing, cardmaking, or framing. This class will cover both the watercolor and the serti technique. Supplies
will be provided; kit cost is included in class fee. You may want to bring a notebook and pen to take notes or to sketch out
your ideas.

The Art of Drawing Animals
Oct 10-31; Saturdays 10am-12pm
Learn to draw animals using first graphite then charcoal pencils with step-by-step
instructions from an experienced art instructor. You'll start with quick sketching from photos, and learn how to create movement
and texture in your drawings. This class keeps it simple by using pencils and taking the time to first sketch, then render
a beautiful finished animal portrait. Bring a photo of your pet or favorite animal, a 2B and 4B graphite pencil, a black charcoal
pencil, a white charcoal pencil, and a kneaded eraser to class. Sketchpaper will be provided.

Mural Design & Painting
Oct 10-31; Saturdays 10am-12pm
Practice mural painting in this class in preparation for painting a project in
your own home! Learn how to prepare the wall, select the paint, design, and paint your mural. Great for kids' rooms, kitchens,
and any nook or cranny you'dlike to embellish. Paint a scene from a fairy tale or bring your garden inside with colorful,
durable acrylic paints. We will use a transparent watercolor technique that is quicker, cheaper, and easier than other mural
painting techniques. Please bring a 1' wide flat brush, at least three colors of acrylic paint (get red, blue, and yellow
if you are not sure what you want to paint), and wear old clothes or bring a smock.

KIDS IN COLLEGE
Draw Japanese Comics!
July 27-30 (Mon-Thurs)
Design
original manga characters! Learn to draw great action poses and focus on making your characters stand out. We’ll
sketch in pencil to practice, and give inking a try too. A fun four-day class taught by an instructor who lived and
studied in Japan.
